because it's worth it

We are four friends from the Cambridgeshire village of Houghton and Wyton who chose to undertake a charity challenge in October 2009.

We rebuilt a cookhouse for a small Primary School called A.Gariseb in Sorris Sorris deep in the heart of Damaraland, Namibia whilst raising funds for our chosen charities, The Parkinson's Disease Society and The Alzheimer's Society.

The aim of this web site is to explain why we are undertook this multi charitable project and to act in part as a thanks to those who supported us in the 18 months leading up to its finale in Namibia.

We needed to raise £12,000 before our departure in October 2009 so we held a number of fundraising events during the 12 months before.  In the end we managed to raise nearly £21,000.  On so many accounts our expectations were exceeded!
